Dr Andrew Collins, geriatric primary-care physician with Owensboro Health Family Medicine, will address the effects of multiple medications for older adults. Polypharmacy, defined by the CDC, is the use of more than 5 medications at the same time. Polypharmacy is a common issue for older adults with chronic conditions, creating increased risk of falls, frailty, and adverse drug interactions.

Dr. Andrew Collins is one of 2 primary-care physicians with Owensboro Health specializing in caring for our aging population. He joins the team at Family Medicine Breckenridge in Owensboro. Dr. Collins was born and raised in Hazard, Kentucky and is an alumnus of the University of Kentucky. He earned his medical degree at Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine and his fellowship in geriatric medicine with Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
