Program Description

Event Details

Join us for an immersive experience as we explore the rich tapestry of Vietnam's culture, cuisine, and history.

We will begin by sampling two Vietnamese snacks: lotus root seaweed snack chips and dried jackfruit.  The lotus root seaweed snack chips are an exotic snack made from the white lotus flowers grown in the watery system around the inside citadel of the Imperial City of Hue, Vietnam.  The dried jackfruit is sourced directly from Vietnam and is made from the largest tree-borne fruit in the world.  The fruit has a thick, bumpy, green rind and stringy yellow flesh that can be eaten raw or cooked.

From there, we will watch several YouTube videos to learn about the history and culture of Vietnam and what it would be like to travel there today.

We will finish the night by making a paper lantern in honor of the Hoi An Lantern Festival, which is a captivating celebration held each month in Hoi An Ancient Town around the time of the full moon.
