National Hostess Cupcake Day is May 11!

Come celebrate early with us by diving into the world of Hostess cakes without the distraction of sight.  Participants will engage in a blind taste test to discern the unique flavors and textures of these iconic treats.  The ultimate Hostess cake connoisseur who guesses the most cakes correctly will be rewarded with a sweet prize!

Hostess Cupcake Day is celebrated annually on May 11th to commemorate the day the first Hostess Cupcake was sold in 1919.  Produced by the Taggart Baking Company, Hostess Cupcakes were originally known as Chocolate Cupcakes.  Hostess Cupcakes became so popular that in 1988 alone, 400 million of these cupcakes were sold.  The number skyrocketed to 600 million in 2011.  After several mergers and acquisitions, Hostess Cupcakes are now produced by Hostess Brands and are still a fan favorite in the cupcake world.  It is marvelous to know that one can eat something developed 105 years ago that remains delicious!
